Richard M. Dalton

1935 - 2025

With great sadness, we announce my father, Richard (Gunner) M. Dalton, born in Cambridge, MA on September 13, 1935, passed on February 8, 2025. He was surrounded by his surviving children and grandchildren.

Our dad passed from complications of dementia. Even with his fading memory, he never forgot who his children, friends, and grandchildren were. His last words to all were, "I love you."

Many loved Richard, (who also went by Dick), with his dry sense of humor and calm temperament. He was a gun collector and enthusiast. He also loved pets and would often rescue cats and dogs. He was passionate about loud music and fast cars and drove them like they should be driven.

Before retirement, Dick worked for special services at the phone company called Bell Telephone initially. Once retired, he enjoyed his golf, shooting guns, and visits from his family and their pets.

Dick is survived by a daughter, Heather Dalton; son, Richard Dalton Jr.; sister, Nancy Giorgie; brother, Bob Dalton; grandchildren, Brittany Perry, Angelique Dalton, and Brandon Dalton; and nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his daughter, Pamala Carini. He is also survived by Heather's dog, Lily, who he adored and would often visit him at his memory care facility.

Fond memories of Richard will always live in the hearts of those he left behind and will forever be cherished.

Services for Richard's burial, followed by a celebration of life, will take place in early spring, with a date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, we'd love to have you consider donating in his memory to Friendship Works, which is a free service for people and their pets to visit the elderly.
